چکیده

Non-renormalizable models are traditionally ignored in high energy physics due to their lack of predictive power. In fact, one needs infinitely many counter terms and renormalization conditions to render these theories well defined. In the framework of the renormalization group [1] one usually identifies the ultraviolet fixed point, where the correlation length diverges with the renormalized theory [2]. In the vicinity of the fixed point the renormalization group equations can be linearized. The resulting scaling law allows to define relevant, marginal or irrelevant operators. These are the eigen-operators of the linearized renormalization group equation with increasing, constant or decreasing coefficients as the cut-off is lowered. It is of central importance that the class of relevant and marginal operators is equivalent to the class of renormalizable operators. This can be seen from a comparison of two renormalized trajectories, one with relevant or marginal couplings, the other one with additional contributions from irrelevant operators. The trajectories approach each other at the infrared end of the region of linearizability. The difference between the two theories reduces to an overall scale factor only as the cut-off

BRST - invariant composite operator of mass dimension 2 in Yang - Mills theory

We discuss the renormalization of a BRST and anti-BRST invariant composite operator of mass dimension 2 in Yang-Mills theory with the general BRST and anti-BRST invariant gauge fixing term of the Lorentz type. The interest of this study stems from a recent claim that the non-vanishing vacuum condensate of the composite operator in question can be an origin of mass gap and quark confinement in a...

Potential for inert adjoint scalar field in SU(2) Yang-Mills thermodynamics

A scalar adjoint field is introduced as a spatial average over (anti)calorons in a thermalized SU(2) Yang-Mills theory. This field is associated with the thermal ground state in the deconfining phase and acts as a background for gauge fields of trivial topology. Without invoking detailed microscopic information we study the properties of the corresponding potential, and we discuss its thermodyn...

Spontaneous breaking of color in N = 1 Super Yang – Mills theory without matter

We argue that in the pure N = 1 Super Yang–Mills theory gauge symmetry is spontaneously broken to the maximal Abelian subgroup. In particular, colored gluino condensate is nonzero. It invalidates, in a subtle way, the so-called strong-coupling instanton calculation of the (normal) gluino condensate and resolves the long-standing paradox why its value does not agree with that obtained by other m...

Statefinder diagnostic for Yang-Mills dark energy model

We study the statefinder parameters in the Yang-Mills condensate dark energy models, and find that the evolving trajectories of these models are different from those of other dark energy models. We also define two eigenfunctions of the Yang-Mills condensate dark energy models. The values of these eigenfunctions are quite close to zero if the equation-of-state of the YangMills condensate is not ...

Spontaneous Susy Breaking in N=2 Super Yang-mills Theories

It is shown that the same essentially non-semiclassical mechanism, which generates in the nonsuper-symmetric pure Yang-Mills theory the binary condensate of gauge field strengths, is responsible for the spontaneous breaking of the two supersymmetries in N=2 super Yang-Mills systems. A detailed discussion is presented in ref. 1
